President's Bio
Dr. Harry Bims is a wireless technology expert and inventor, with six United States patents attributed to him. These skills add value in the design and implementation of wireless network infrastructure, including cellular network switching systems, and advanced Wi-Fi access points. He has testified numerous times in patent infringement cases as an expert witness on cellular and Wi-Fi technology.
He has spent 12 years working in wireless technology startups, holds three college degrees in engineering, an undergraduate degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and both a Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degree from Stanford University. His first degree, a Bachelor of Science in Computer and Systems Engineering, provided training in the hardware and software design of advanced computing systems. This degree was fully paid for by AT&T Bell Laboratories, through the Bell Laboratories Engineering Scholarship program.
His graduate degrees provided training in the theory of advanced wireless signal processing techniques. These degrees were again paid for by AT&T Bell Laboratories, through the Cooperative Research Fellowship Program. The combination equipped him with the background necessary to begin a career designing a wide variety of wireless systems.
In addition to his engineering expertise, Dr. Bims is also a natural leader. He is the former Chair of the Silicon Valley Chapter of the IEEE Engineering Management Society, and is also the former Chair and Vice-Chair of the City of Menlo Park’s Planning Commission. He has also been promoted throughout his career into a variety of positions from entry-level engineer to Director of Engineering, to Founder and CEO of a venture-capital funded, wireless network infrastructure company.
